Its been a while since my last post and there are lots of reasons for that, lack of discipline, vacation, Thanksgiving, work, etc.. But now I think I have a good topic so I’m gonna write again, and hopefully I’ll keep it up.
Have you noticed the lack of the word “Christmas” while out and about? Have you notice the excessive use of the word “Holiday” instead? This use of the word has become somewhat of a fad among large corporations, to name a few, Home Depot, Costco, Macy’s, Khols and many ohers, this is their way of being “politically correct” and I must say that in their attempt to offend no one they offend everyone. These companies don’t say Christmas becuase it acknowleges Christ and in our post-Christian, to each his own type society, religion is unnacceptable, but especially Christianity. You might realize that everywhere you look you still see Christmas decorations, the green and red tinsel, Christmas trees, people dressed as elves or Santa Claus and yet they contradict themselves by not saying Christmas. And the funny thing is they don’t decorate for Hannukah, Kwanssa or Ramadan or any other “holiday”, they decorate for Christmas.
As Romans 1:18-21 says,
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
In conclusion, the companies that refrain from saying Christmas are described in the verses above. They know the truth, yet they suppress it. In their rejection of the Christian Holiday, they reject the Christian faith, our God and Christ.
So next time your at one of these places that won’t say Christmas, ask them what Holiday they’re talking about when they say “Happy Holidays!” Their reaction will tell you how much the world hates us.
